Siesta Key is barrier island off of the central western coast of Florida. It is situated between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. A portion of it lies within the city boundary of Sarasota, but the majority of the key is in Sarasota County. Located approximately 55 miles south of Tampa on Florida's Gulf Coast.
Siesta Key is an eight-mile-long barrier island connected to Sarasota by two bridges. Founded in 1846, there are now approximately 24,000 full- and part-time residents of Siesta Key.
We are just minutes from some of the area's finest restaurants and shopping, golf courses, arts and entertainment, museums and recreation areas. Sarasota cultural offerings include not only the performing arts, but numerous private galleries and Ringling Museum of Art featuring the old masters and contemporary artists.

The Sarasota Opera Association and The Ballet, as well as The Florida West Coast Symphony also call Sarasota home.
For those who want to get closer to nature, Marie Selby Gardens, Mote Marine Aquarium and Marine Science Center, Oscar Scherer State Park and Myakka State Park are nearby. Sarasota offers many golf courses, all types of water sports including deep sea fishing on charter boats, swimming, boating, skiing, windsurfing and canoeing, shopping on St. Armand's Circle with its many fine boutiques and several great.
